Looking for easy handmade cards that still look elegant? Yes, it’s possible with just 3 elements!
This 3-Element Thursday Short features pastel ink-blended postage stamps with gold heat embossing, an etched border to frame the stamps, and an antique gold “Just a Note” sentiment with a vellum shadow layer.
You can watch the detailed YouTube tutorial here. For your convenience I’ve gathered all available supplies used in today’s project and also included a detailed list of tools I use regularly at the end of the blog post for your reference:
The Three Elements
Element #1: Gold Embossing
Start with a few postage stamp die-cuts (six for an A2-sized card) and use pastel inks to blend the backgrounds.
Next, use different parts of a small floral stamp to create heat-embossed gold designs on the stamp backgrounds.
Element #2: Etched Border Frame
An etched border frame will take the card from busy to looking polished. Start assembling the card design by adhering it first, so you can arrange the stamps more easily and evenly on all sides.
Element #3: Gold Sentiment
Use two layers of the die-cut sentiment stacked behind the vellum shadow layer (if using) to create more separation from the background so the gold sentiment stands out a little better.
Finish with gems or other embellishments of your choice.
